Marina Iten (*1998) is a Swiss alto and soprano saxophonist and composer. She began playing the saxophone at the age of ten and developed her interest in Jazz through lessons with Mark Hauser.

In 2022, Marina completed her Bachelor’s degree in Jazz at the Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK), studying with Christoph Grab. She is currently continuing her studies there in the Master’s program in Performance. In 2024, Marina Iten received the Cultural Promotion Prize of Horgen.

Marina lives in Zurich and is active in various bands, including the Driftwood Quartet, LAYENA, Ramzi Hammad Collective, and Fendika & K-Sanchis. With the Ramzi Hammad Collective, she was invited to the Montreux Jazz Residency in 2025 and nominated for the ZKB Jazz Prize. In 2026, she tours Switzerland with the Driftwood Quartet as part of the Suisse Diagonales Jazz Tour, which will also include two concerts with US pianist Aaron Parks.

Marina is also co-founder of the association NOIIS, which is dedicated to supporting and promoting emerging artists. Through NOIIS, she curates concert series and festivals in Zurich, featuring both Swiss and international musicians.
